Here is a crispy & different snack, for you all to try. I am sure if you make this at home, it will be a instant hit. I wanted to try something different out of bread, I got reminded of the recipe which I read in Nita Mehta's Cook book. I Tried and it came out really well. I just loved the crispy outside texture and the juicy corn stuffing inside, with a nutty (Sesame seeds) feeling. It was just out of the world.
Just try it, I am pretty sure you will also agree with me.
Bread Slices - 4
Cream Style corn - 3/4 Cup
Onion - 1 No ( Finely chopped)
Garlic - 1/2 Teaspoon ( Finely Chopped)
Green Chili - 1 No ( De-seeded & Finely chopped)
Tomato Sauce - 1 Teaspoon
Pepper Powder - 1/2 Teaspoon
Salt - As needed
Corn flour - 2 Table Spoon
Sesame seeds - 1 Table Spoon
Water - 1/4 Cup
Vinegar - 1/4 Teaspoon
Oil - 1 Table Spoon
For Stuffing :
Heat oil in a pan, add garlic fry for a minute, then add onion and green chili to it with a pinch of salt and fry until onion turns soft with light golden brown color, now add cream style corn, mix well. Then
add, pepper powder, salt, tomato sauce, vinegar, to it and sauté until the mixture gets thick in consistency. Now stuffing is ready.
Trim the edges of the bread and roll with a rolling pin, to make thin squares. Repeat for all slices and keep aside.
Mix the corn flour with water in a wide dish ( big enough to hold the complete roll) without any lumps.
Scatter the sesame seeds in a plate.
Now take a bread slice, place 2 Teaspoon of stuffing, apply corn flour batter in the sides of the bread, and roll the bread carefully and seal the edges.
Give a quick dip in the corn flour batter, roll over the sesame seeds, and pan fry / deep fry in hot oil until golden brown.
Enjoy the Corn rolls / Chinese sesame crusted rolls with tomato sauce while its hot.
Cream style corn is readily available in can, or boxes in stores.
